Consenting to the use of AI in one context surely would not count as consent in the case of personalized advertising. This seems like a privacy violation in my eyes. It surely wouldn't be the first time Meta misused facial scans.

The revised TOS that went into effect on January 1 claims the broadest possible usage rights, rendering “intellectual property” rights moot. Users consent by simply using the platform. Using any meta property effectively waives privacy rights.

Before I nuked my FB and IG accounts, I nukes Threads and WhatsApp. Messenger goes poof with FB. All that was left to do was delete apps and bookmarks.

And I did download account archives in early December.

I logged into Facebook to export my data today and there was one post at the top from a real person I know, followed by eight separate weird AI slop/bizarre/unsettling posts from random accounts. I’d read it was bad but…it’s bonkers.
