criticizing liberalism is useful and necessary for liberalism to improve and for other movements not to repeat its mistakes -- but most of the people using "liberal" as an epithet just straight up don't know what they're talking about

I have zero issue with in-depth, contextualized critiques of liberalism: what I’m talking about is people who identify as on the left (like myself) using “liberal” as an insult all the time without context or explanation.
