This resonated with me in a big way. Had a long conversation yesterday with my partner about just this. Do we struggle against the collapse, simply prepare for the new reality or indulge in a sort of leftist hedonism. It’s a weird thing to grapple with.

I think we may have different cultural norms about when people should be tagged on social media. My rule of thumb is that you should tag in people who wrote something, but there's never a no need to tag who shared it. (I have no expectation that people tag me if I share something that's not mine)

Indeed, I think it can sometimes be a kindness NOT to tag people, especially if you are the account with have a lot more followers - tagging can be a way of driving unwanted attention to someone (and it's hard to know what is wanted, esp if you're framing the link differently than they did).

So glad you enjoyed it! I really love the idea of being participants in a culture of transition, and the clarity that comes from taking the long view. (And thinking about what we can gain in terms of meaning and connection, not just what we stand to lose materially)

Shifting our perspective really makes a difference, doesn’t it? When we understand that change is part of an ongoing process, it feels more hopeful. It’s reassuring to focus on the meaning and connections we can build, rather than just worrying about what we might lose along the way.
