If you use carlbot you can use the purge command - but you have to do that for each channel.

i think i might just have to ban (with post removal) and re-invite them but i'd rather not if we can avoid it 🙃

Just on vibes I'd try YAGPDB. If you haven't found something by the next time I'm free at my desktop (probably midnight EDT) I'll check the docs and see if that's a real suggestion.
