Yes but it still helps our troop. And it teaches the girls to sell. My daughter has a huge troop who do fun things. And we do 2 service projects a year. Cookies of course. And April showers.

Unfortunately, most of the time when I see the girls in front of the grocery stores, it's the adults who are doing the selling while the girls hide behind them. Not sure what sort of selling they're learning, it's more like "The adults will do it for us."

Something like $10 of $70 worth of cookies go to the troop. 100% of a $10 donation to a troop goes to the troop. My experience is the troop leaders are much happier with a straight donation to the troop; So is my waistline & my wallet.

I’m in my late 50s. I was a Junior Girl Scout. I was a top seller of calendars, cookies, whatever we sold. Yes, it teaches the scouts to SELL but it doesnt teach anything else. I’d rather donate for something else. Projects that help others or to learn skills. Stop making them salesgirls

Councils set the price based on where they get the cookies (there’s two different makers) and how much they want to earn above the cost of the box. That said, didn’t think anyone was still doing $4 a box!

There's 4 dispensaries within a 3 block area I told my friend to set up in the center and asked all the cashiers to send people over. Easy peasy clearing 100+ boxes a day
