Seeing some people starting to realize there's no such thing as a "clean" social media free of things that make you upset, there's just places that suck a little less and places that give you more tools to make it suck less

nothin wrong with lookin for The Least Shitty Option but ppl really set themselves up for disappointment thinking bsky would remain this safe haven where no CEO makes bad decisions and no stupid beef happens whatsoever. in the end at least half of the solution to your wellbeing has to come from You
if you can't internalize the things you know you should do for yourself, then 500 new sites could pop up that'd all do certain things better and you'd still be miserable
stg every dumbass saying shit like "we're different from twitter we're better over here and have no drama" was some bs we only had to see bc the sites algorithm which like many other things still doesnt work yet prioritized every post praising the site
this site's discovery algo is actually worse than twitter's in that even if it's better at avoiding bullshit that's more bc the current userbase makes that easier and it otherwise doesn't even seem to try to show me things i'm interested in LMAO. at least on twit's discovery i get relevant fanart
Like it's never not gonna prioritize liberal grifter NYT journalists who bought bot followers bc they think having a lot of followers "owns" the government somehow bc it thinks all those bots they have clicking on their paypal donation links are real people and engagement
i know someone was like "people should really learn how to act on the internet so they don't reply at random to other people's posts" and like. that *is* true, but also The System Is Working As Intended
precisely, nothin wrong with wanting better but stupid internet bullshit is honestly just The Game, you either learn to play it comfortably or know when to put down the controller
