one of my favorite duck mannerisms is simply due to the fact that their eyes are not forward facing. So when they want to look at something in the sky they tip their heads to the side. An absolute riot (not my photo)

Must be a weird feeling when you see the sky and the ground half to half at the same time, like having two screens in front of you😅 but I'm sure their brains figured it out :)
for real. but I just looked up bc I was like "wonder if they have any binocular area" AND THEY DO so they can basically almost see 360 degrees around all the time
The family used to joke that I was a duck when I was a kid because, being short (even for a kid), I developed this habit of doing the duck head turn-and-tip whenever I was listening to someone intently.
I have a flock of ducks ( 11 in total )
My drakes would make a loud rasp sound as an alarm every time when they spot a buzzard flying in the sky. And the rest of the flock would tilt their heads like this all together. Even though they are never harmed by these birds. Indeed quite amusing to see.
We had 9. 2 khaki campbells (the OGs), 3 pekins (rip), and 4 others (cayuga, 2 different runners, and a welsh harlequin). The pekins were happy to hang out with whoever. But my khakis are sooooo cliquey. We got the 4 others so the khaki male laid off the khaki lady but NO khaki lady is a terror

My favorite mannerism is their head bobs when they know they are getting treats. They get so excited 😆
They come looking in the windows on the back deck until I come outside
We thought about getting a couple more in the spring, but I’m now wondering if they wouldn’t mix well? Did you get the same breed?
