Working to collect Ernie Banks. Have a couple from the 50's and a few from the 60's. His 54 is on my list to get. I love many of those cards you mentioned.

I like the list but I think I would have gone 3 or 4 in condition. That forces new cards though. Maybe I'll take a crack at that.

Good list!

I’m a big fan of “just get the card” and don’t focus on grade. I want an inexpensive, well-centered copy. Small pinholes and back paper-loss are encouraged.

I think if someone did yours and also mine they would have an amazing start to their collection for way under $20K. Plus they'd have safety.

It's a good strategy. Used to be a better one though. I feel that low grade cards are super expensive because everyone is fighting for that trophy of that big card. I'm always shocked by the price of 1s vs. 2.5s and 3s. Obviously way less but it used to b a third; now, it's half.

True. But when you’re on my budget and you’re talking about a $300 card instead of $600, it’s significant. I’d rather have more cards than “investments.”
