Nothing makes me laugh harder than thinking about Wicked in the west end announcing that the Queen had died and then the show opening with a full chorus GOOD NEWWWWWWWWS! SHE'S DEEEEEEEEEEAD!

I've nothing to add to the post, but I just wanted to say you're a very funny guy. And I'm glad that, even if times are tough rn, I at least live in a world with people like you in it!

I believe it's an example of "irony juxtaposition", where you notice that there is an ironic, often darkly humourous outcome when unrelated two things are put together.
In this example, the show always starts with that line, and it's fine except for one day where it is hilariously inappropriate.
Pretty much how most comedy and music gigs in Ireland started for about a month after Margaret Thatcher died.
Seeing Public Enemy leading a Dublin sing-song of "Ding Dong the Witch is Dead" followed by chanting "Fight the Power" for 5 minutes was one of my happiest gig experiences.
Billy Elliott was running when Thatcher died and Act 2 opens with “Merry Christmas Maggie Thatcher”
