We don't do this full-time, but our typical writing routine is an hour or two in the am or the pm. If that's all we can get in the day, it's still a blessing.

The #12x12PB challenge gives me a baseline goal of writing at least one draft per month. For the past couple years, I wrote those drafts on #FirstDraftFriday, hosted by @holliewolverton.bsky.social. Before that, I wrote them on critique train days hosted by @mindyalyseweiss.bsky.social.

I have on my vision board 12x12 Winner (some day!). Last year I did pretty good. The trick is getting the January draft done. Then February comes around & you tell yourself, "Now I need to start a 'streak.'" Then March is suddenly here and you say, "It would be a shame to break my streak now." etc.

I have a special tiny house at the edge of the woods that is my office. I try to spend time here every day, even if I can only spend 20 minutes. In this space, I can only do things that are writing / creativity related. No work or chores.

I write every Wednesday and Thursday night with my accountability groups. I try to write as much as possible on top of that besides, but this 2x a week schedule resulted in 3 completed manuscripts so I’d say it works pretty well bare minimum
