tbh I may be done posting about AI on Bluesky, it's not worth trying to offer nuance and factual accuracy here when the outcome is more commonly quote-tweet dunks.

I always appreciated reading what you were up to with AI back on Twitter, when it was still Twitter. Sorry that you're having to deal with people being assholes here—I hope you'll keep posting here regardless, even if you've got to lock down repairs and quotes.
to be clear, it is a flawed analogy but only one of the replies/QTs note the root cause that this issue is due to LLM providers encouraging people to use it incorrectly, while the rest of the responses are "AI bad" https://bsky.app/profile/dancow.bsky.social/post/3lnqgk5qpik2h
yeah, i dunked because it was a really stupid argument to make coupled with a wild miss on why people have problems with it
if you want to make people think AI isn't bad, you have to solve the problems the people have, not explain to them their problems aren't valid. preaching never works on cynics
yeah. I wish there was a way to have a conversation with people full on disdainful of the tech without having to unpack the baggage a bunch of rich shitheads bundled together with it, but even the people not trying to exploit with it aren’t making great arguments
The level of AI discourse in this place honestly blows my mind. "It's entirely evil! But also completely useless!" Dragging me back to the other place.
AI and ML are useful for a great, great many things. People just lob often factually ignorant anger bombs, despite the fact those of us who know a lot about it and/or have to work with it a lot are probably the same people who argued for major regulation before others even knew what an LLM was.
Yeah, I don't discuss AI here very often. It's genuinely not worth the types of totalitarian replies that come back, as if people are funneling all their resentment against billions into a broadside against a random person.
I was about to yell no on your first post, until I read the comments on the other thread. Anyway, works better for some other people, with different kind of followers. It's a bummer you can't choose the ones you have. If only you could post under separate topics... you'd soon have another reddit
What people see is something else that’s trying to take their job. That’s it. No more, no less. I know that shitty summary AI writes on top of a news story is half wrong and I’m going to have to go in there and do it myself, but a bean counter who doesn’t read our paper only sees one more job gone.

I may have to seriously reconsider sharing my AI blog posts on Bluesky.
Not saying you should stop posting, but if you do, we can see why...
