I’ve provided or facilitated submission of every piece of personal info SD DSS has on her Medicaid app after I was approached in the hospital by a contractor that facilitates those apps

To find out what more info they need to complete it, they refuse to tell me.
I’m literally giving them all her personal info, not asking for any personal info, just asking, “what else do you need?” 3/8

SD DSS tells me that even telling me what other info they need is confidential, and they’ve sent a letter to her mailing address 1.5 hours away from where she’s in rehab to say…well they wouldn’t tell me what it says 4/8

My auntie’s not home; she’s in rehab. ATM she can’t read, has serious aphasia, and can barely tell you her name. So, even if she had the SD DSS letter in her hands, it wouldn’t do her any good without someone to read & explain to her (cognition is good 🙌🏼) 5/8

Thankfully, the friend checking her mail had a chance to bring it up to her rehab today.
I opened the SD DSS letter, and it said the only thing missing was a scan of her photo ID.
The letter said if they didn’t receive it by YESTERDAY, her claim would be denied. 6/8

I literally called these folks last week. She has her ID with her. We could have easily submitted that missing piece ahead of deadline if they’d been willing to say what it was. 7/8
