The team developing this site is smart, hard-working, and quite friendly. We do all wish some features weren't taking so long to implement, but it will be worth it.
we were (mostly) hugely overprovisioned and had just done a lot of quality engineering work to be able to withstand a 10x traffic bump. The underlying protocol @atproto.com is basically an open version of how high-scale systems work at other big sites
