I wonder why politicians didn’t jump off their seats to demand that the firebombing attack on a Palestinian Restaurant in Caulfield late last year be declared terrorism too. Is it because the restaurant owner was of the wrong race?

The attack on Bergertory was a direct attack on the owner because of his ideology. There’d been threats made to him and his family because of his heritage and pro Palestinian activism before the restaurant was fire bombed.
Only if they are attacks based on religion or ideology.
The word “terrorist” though has absolutely lost any meaning. Just in the last few days one of the 9/11 “terrorists” is the darling of the US in Syria. Lauding him while his US wanted poster still in circulation.
No No No that wasn't the reason ...... if he'd the foresight to get a few friends together and make a donation to a very worthy cause .... say a major political party or two ... bought the odd seat and $10k a plate fundraiser things would have been different.
Don't forget the explosive device placed on a car parked in a driveway in Sydney last January, with a note threatening; "Enough! Take down flag! One chance!!!!".
All because the bloke was flying a Palestinian flag.
Nope, the loose definition of ASIO about terrorism is mostly inciting violence in the name of religion or ideology in society...surely you can agree that synagogue is definitely different from a restaurant 🤔?
Hence the declaration...
Because you don't have perpetrators, you can't discern from the attack on the burger joint what the intent is...regardless of who the owner is! Stop assuming and look at facts!? An attack to a religious location is at least easier to discern the motives without having perpetrators.
Because the synagogue congregation is ultra conservative and anti Netanyahu and anti Zionist and there had been a previous history of threats against them by Zionists my first thought would be that Zionists were most likely to have conducted the fire bombing.

Not unlike the doctored Opera House video.
Everyone politician went strangely quiet….
The area this particular restaurant is in made sure it was completely downplayed.
I know two arsonists were arrested, but there's no other news.

If you’re suggesting that a firebombing attack on a restaurant is terrorism then every firebombing of tobacco sellers this year is the same.
FYI, I think the synagogue was a false flag attack.
Burgertory; Synagogue…no attack is acceptable
The initial question I thought was downright bizarre suggesting indirectly that “the attack on Burgertory was a terrorist attack”
As you’ve pointed out rightly, it’s a real slippery slope.
Yes WTC was a terrorist attack
How long before we label drive by shootings as terrorism?
Let's be serious here...we know why Burgertory wasn't labelled as such and it has NOTHING to do with race.
It's because it's a very quick slippery slope!

All because the bloke was flying a Palestinian flag.
How was that not an act of terrorism?

The intent was to clearly threaten and terrorise the family living there.
The police have become way too politicised.
Hence the declaration...
What of the fire bombing of the school bus in Adelaide today belonging to Islamic School
Government MPs are constantly walking on egg shells around them and flinch when the lobbyist knock on their door!
