That’s 💯 false.
The EU has put up sanctions, has put together €100 billion of financial help, has raised the hopes of the Ukrainian people to join the EU, has opened the gates to Ukrainian people and businesses, etc.
and this 👇 is a strong position and speech.

Military support has been mostly outside the EU frameworks.
The EU institutions don’t have weapons factories and doesn’t enlist soldiers.
But I remember U.K. doing #Brexit being afraid an EU Army…
So make up your mind: do Brits want or don’t want an European Army?
It was hard getting sanctions and financial support past Hungary, no way Orban would support troops.
I think this is just a problem that has to be solved outside of the EU institutions. Brexit isn’t very relevant for once.
We had Rome, Maastricht, then Lisbon, etc.
Why would the Hungarian people be against an EU joint defence mechanism similar to an European NATO?
I don’t think Orban would approve Hungarian involvement in an “EUTO” troop deployment.
There are mechanisms to go around Hungary by the way in the EU and such mechanisms have been used.
But coming back to my point: every 10 years there is a new treaty with more flexibility precisely because of issues such as 1 member out of 27 blocking things.
