Verboden Toegang Restaurant Artikel 461 is really good! Unusually for a Dutch restaurant, they actually care about allergies and intolerances. Unpretentious food, good winelist, nice place for dinner.
@judithpollmann.bsky.social @misswalsingham.bsky.social @altibel.bsky.social you must have excellent recommendations? (and are excellent hanging-out-with recommendations :))
Friese Brood en Banket Bakkerij Us Bertus, a Frisian bakery with some nice specialities like Frisian suikerbrood and kwarlbol (this one is for sharing or to eat in more days).
Hortus Grand Café at the Hortus Botanicus is a nice place for lunch.
't Suppiershuysinghe is a nice coffee place annex sandwich shop, I think now they do take card, but have cash just in case. It is behind the old court house.
P__D deli pies & coffee in Harlemmerstraat is a Greek deli with amazing hortorpita spanakopita, etc. They have a lot of vegan options.
Several Anda is a no non-sense Indonesian place for lunch, dinner, or to go.
Bocconi Pasta Italiana is a small cozy Italian next to the Burcht.
Midi Marché has nice Mediterranean food, next to it Mamie Gourmande, a French bakery.
If you are there on Wednesday or Saturday go to the market on Botermarkt.
For fries, Dapp Frietwinkel.
If it's warm and sunny, tried the dark chocolate or cucumber sorbets at SoetEnSo.
