I went and checked the 'review bombing' and he's talking nonsense? The reviews seem to be chock full of useful feedback from players who invested anywhere between 10-100 hours.
If anything, this blowhard attitude from the company CEO is more of a turn-off than negative reviews.

In No Rest for the Wicked you collect healing items in the world, they don't respawn, but enemies also don't respawn. So as long as you can kill one enemy before dying you eventually win.
It's just a bad set of rules that encourages a dull optimal play style.
