That in just a shadow, I can see the intimacy and what appears to be As but I g her lower lip, the tension, intimacy and excitement without a single bit of flesh shown…
this is peak actually, the sensuality is very much enhanced by only seeing in shadow... flustered me a good bit more than it would've if it were just the scene in full view somehow~😳🌸
Sometimes the less you see the more your brain fills in the details, and your brain? Yeah it kinda likes to imagine a best case scenario for stuff like this ;)
I love how you captured the way shadows have a different level of blur based on how far the obstruction is from the wall. Masterful attention to detail. It really adds to the sense of realism.
So beautiful, I really like how you can see individual strands of hair, as always the details are amazing. (Also sorry but every time I look at Otti, this image flashes in my mind 😭)
knowing how shadows work, penumbra, contact shadows (where shadows kinda merge in a "blob-like" fashion) and the environment itself lighting the shade areas, all helps to create shadows!
(Also different light sources have different shadow "resolution", object distance also plays a role in that)
It's the platonic ideal of lesbianism. (iirc the whole cave allegory was relating to Plato's theory of forms, and that's also where the phrase platonic ideal derives from, so the joke does work lol)
Allegory of the Cave and theory of forms are two different yet equally fascinating things! Allegory of the cave is more about how our perspective shapes our interpretation of the world, and how we are always capable of learning to adapt a new perspective.
Oh this, this is beautiful. I love the little details - especially the penumbra around the shadows, and the way you used a different colour for it (as it should be), not just "slightly paler shadow". The way their hair looks just slightly out of focus is just right as well. Astonishing work!
Also when I first saw this I as I was scrolling on the phone I somehow completely missed that hand placement lol. Definitely an important detail though.
Me about to start talking about why i think stegosaurs were probably flashy and colourful to look at and how the obvious display role of the plates has historically been downplayed in popular media despite being significant in actual palaeontological discussion and how this connects to misogyny

I love how the edging of the shadows and silhouette have that colorful blurred kinda diffusion?
I dunno how to put it lol
Looks damn cool!
Beautiful work.

Absolutely killed it on the lighting and the shadows
50/50 chance it'll either be posted or scraped.
I can always draw some simple stuff but I also like to push the envelope with different ideas occasionally
How could they see anything but best friends if they were never allowed to move their heads?
This piece really is a testament to your skill as an artist. Conveying such a soft, intimate moment so gorgeously with just silhouettes is amazing.
