Breaking my personal rule of not recommending anything 3d printing related here: I'm very happy with my recent acquisition of a QiDi Q1 Pro.

Bamboo Labs just are pretty much the most reliable in the affordable spectrum. Manynpeople'a hobby is to do things with the 3d prints - not 3D printing itself (fiddling with the printer to "optimize"). Hence why they took over the market like that. "rug pull" is really overdramatized.

It might come as a surprise, but tinkering with the 3d printer also isn't one of my hobbies. And I rarely had to over the past 12 years.

They got a large chunk of the market share they got due to aggressive marketing. They caused hype. That doesn't mean others aren't reliable & affordable.

And by all means, call this overdramatic. I'll be happy to be proven wrong, but their first and foremost responsibility as a VC funded company is to create value for their shareholders, and taking some pages out of Cricut's playbook is a nice & easy way to do that, if the customers stay regardless.
