As I'm seeing quite a number of people in my timeline currently looking for a new #eReader due to Amazon continuing to enshittify, maybe this two year old blog post of mine about my Boox Nova 3 Color running Android is helpful: foosel.net/blog/2023-01...

I ordered a cordless vacuum (Bosch Unlimited 7) and am really looking forward to its arrival. I think I've reached peak adulting. Send help!

New starter pack just dropped Check it out to see what our GitHub Stars are up to ๐Ÿ’ซ go.bsky.app/SLURjn2

While #Dredge certainly has its scary moments where my thalassophobia gets triggered, it also has some beautiful scenery ๐Ÿ˜Š #gaming #SteamDeck

#ProjectHotsauce2025 is a go, I repeat, Project Hotsauce 2025 is a go! 6 x each of Habanero, Cayenne, Tabasco, Jalapeรฑo, Reaper and some bell shaped one I don't know the English name of, and 4 x Lemon Drop.

Two years later the custom buttons I created for my partner's Steam Deck are still looking like at the start ๐Ÿ˜Š And they are getting a TON of use ๐Ÿ˜„ Still proud of the result, and every time I see my partner play with the deck and how happy he is with the buttons it puts a smile on my face ๐Ÿฅฐ

The #Bouldering session this morning sadly pretty much started with a small accident, causing my right shoulder to get stretched too much. So now I'm giving it a rest. But at least I was able to do a proper session nevertheless while avoiding to make the shoulder (or my left wrist) more angry.

I have to admit that this was unexpected, but I'm a GitHub Star for another year! ๐Ÿฅณ I'll use that time to continue to lobby for things like a custom upload type in GitHub's issue forms - by now I consider this my personal quest! ๐Ÿ˜‚

Took care of a #project I had planned since before Christmas and turned a hoodie off mine into something a tad nerdier. This is now my favourite hoodie on the citadel!ยน ยน I just hope it survives the laundry, still my first steps with HTV vinyl ๐Ÿ™ˆ #MassEffect

The #bouldering session this morning was sadly overshadowed by my right shoulder acting up and thus I couldn't go as strong or long as I would have liked. I still made the best of it and at least managed to top a route I hadn't yet been able to! Folding myself into corners isn't exactly my thing ๐Ÿ˜…

First time giving a talk to an actual live audience sitting right in front of me since October 2019, and boy is that better than talking to a camera with googly eyes ๐Ÿ˜… I really missed this! To those of you who attended it: Thank You!

Y'all, if you help testing a release candidate, it really helps if you actually open bug reports for any bugs you find in the issue tracker, especially if that is requested by the project, instead of commenting about found problems all over the place *apart* from in a proper bug report ๐Ÿ˜ญ

New blog post: New release candidate: 1.11.0rc1 octoprint.org/blog/2025/01...

I've now mounted the front plate and electronics of my first 3d printer into a frame and given it a place of honour in my office. The printer with which everything #OctoPrint started. The printer that literally changed my life. I think that's a good way to keep it in memory.

We almost gave up this morning to get our #bouldering session in thanks to the hall opening later than usual due to large public transport issues, but the wait was worth it. Managed to top the fb5 I couldn't on Tuesday ๐Ÿ˜Š

It's a bit late for a first #bouldering session of 2025, but up until now first my health and then the recent trip got into the way of my usual rhythm. Lost some strength over the past weeks, but at least got some more energy again ๐Ÿ˜Š

Hm... I'd really love to hand in a talk for the #EuroPython CfP, but I'm drawing a blank on the topic ๐Ÿ˜ฌ So let's try something new. Given what I do, full time OSS maintenance, OctoPrint, etc, if given the chance, what would you like me to talk about at a Python conference? ๐Ÿค”

For the record, rug pulls like their recent one are precisely the reason why I wish people would finally stop buying into the Bambulab hype & aggressive marketing and instead get a 3d printer from a company that doesn't force their cloud down their throat together with their proprietary hardware.

Spent a beautiful week with my partner of now five years in the southern Black Forest, to celebrate our anniversary by taking a short time out in nature ๐Ÿ˜Š While I'm admittedly not too thrilled to return to work again tomorrow, this was the kind of reset I needed to recharge my energy levels ๐Ÿฅฐ
