I’ll show these pictures to my mum later today - Shackleton was one of her dad’s heroes, and he stood where you are when he was a marine engineer
working in the South Atlantic.

At some point might pick your brains on who might hold any records of the companies that operated out of S.Georgia.

Truly once in a lifetime being able to share his story with so many interested people.

Learned just recently about Frank Hurley's photographs. Didn't realize they'd had a photographer aboard. A lot of the shots seem boggling to me, especially the moving pictures.

Don't underestimate the determined nerd with a camera I guess.

The appreciation that he and Shackleton had for the importance of a photographic record is quite something. In retrospect still a crazy decision to carry 120 glass negatives away from Endurance when every ounce mattered, but here we are a century later and their decision is vindicated.
