What’s funny to me is this is the first time I’m cluing in that no US alcohol means no US beer. I don’t believe I’ve ever chosen to drink American beer.
A ball team I was on was sponsored by Coors at one point so I’m guessing I must have had one at some point. I had Colt 45 once as more of a joke and had the worst bubbly burps type hangover ever.
🇨🇦🇺🇦👏🏻👏🏻Thank you, Michael de Adder!
You couldn’t have described Canadians better at this moment in time!
Donald Trump, spawned this trade war against OUR country & we will not back down!
I strongly support Canada, but this is nonsense. It used to be true, back before small craft breweries sprung up everywhere throughout the US and we all drank watery Budweiser, Miller, etc. But there are now a multitude of really great American craft beers that are anything but watery.
My Canadian cousins always said this about American beer. “ it’s like screwing in a canoe, it’s fuckin close to water!” I still tell that joke! Since I have graduated to bourbon.
Not only that! They most probably used Canadian water to produce that beer. Minus 25% to sell them Canadian Water, 25% tariff to buy American Beer. Much cheaper to buy Canadian beer!
I used to hate beer. Then I tried a beer based off Belgium and I realized the reason Americans like an ice cold American beer is the cold temp makes them taste less crappy.
I haven’t tried authentic Belgium beer. Just Belgium inspired beer. The brewery here is named new Belgium brewery and they learned from you wonderful people.
No excuse to drink American beer when there are some amazing craft beers in BC and some of the smaller breweries are struggling due to rising costs. We need to support them. My husband is doing is best!
I was asked which American beers I liked while on sabbatical at Cornell.I said “Labatt’s and Dos Equis”. The person said “But they’re Canadian and Mexican!”. And I said “Exactly” 😎
Given the way the macros control shelf space in the US, I imagine it is fairly rare for quality American beers from small brewers to get much distribution in Canadian stores.
I visited the island in 2003, just off the west coast of Denmark, near Esbjerg.
It’s generally flat, covered in heather and tall grasses, has wonderful sand dunes, and is very windy. Locals are super friendly.

In Denmark we have alkohol free beer that tastes way better than budweiser dishwater.
We know we're terrible, go enjoy your utopia.

Accurate!
Michael - can I save this and share it? What is the proper way to credit you on this one?
Friend of mine once tried to figure out how many breweries and beers we have. In 2010 he came up with 600 breweries and 7000 different beers.
In a country with 11mln people...
I also love Dutch beer, specifically Grolsh! Mmmmmmm!
It's my fav!
6 of the 9(?) Trappists worldwide come from Belgium, and the 1 in The Netherlands is close to the Belgian border.
Distinct taste + artisan production makes it so good.
