I realise that multi nationalism is a real thing and that the author has an agenda to protect Aussie rugby. However it is becoming more of farce at international level now. These jnr projects taking kids straight out of pathways need binning.

Not to include time spent at rugby schools on scholarship. Which Beaumont introduced, which allows eng france with to capture many young players with no actual connections. Of course no switching countries for teams (or at least those in the top 12 countries)

Although there is a loophole that Wales should and could exploit is that the player needs to be exclusively registered with a club/union.

So your guy on a scholarship at school if he played Wales U18 then the time doesn't count.

Nor if he maintains a club membership to a Welsh club.

I'd kinda heard something of that wasn't sure, however. I would agree that we (the WRU) need to enforce that and aggressively protect our resources, including challenging the nonsense that sees kane james having to rep the eng U20s. The author has some valid points, parental links are not tenuous

Conveniently he groups together AUS NZ and Pacific islands as one group and the UK and Ireland in another. Hiding the fact that young Island talent is offered sponsorship in NZ/AUS. As are young Welsh in eng schools etc
Simplest solution place of birth player or parent 7yrs residency.
