What's weird about him is that, like the Google founders (remember "Don't be Evil"?) he originally wanted to be seen as a public-spirited good guy. Then at some point he stopped giving a shit. Was it being mega-wealthy? Maybe, as your story indicates, he was always a dick and stopped pretending.
Even before. These people are evil to the core. I've finally understood that we who care want to think these people do too. They don't. Monsters walk among us.
There were internal efforts to make him not publicly appear as a robot run entirely on self-interest but he refused to take any advice. That’s why he’s always looked like a dork elemental
Maybe. Personally I think the bigger factor is he's just weak and taking the path of least resistance. The right wing outrage and slime machine has been cranked up to 11 on Facebook - over bullshit - and he doesn't have the guts to stand up to it. Same with Jeff Bezos, ABC and many others.
He is not weak, it’s a show. He’s knows not to be as deliberate and gruff as Musk and Trump. His fake persona where he appears meek is him trying to manipulate you.
Mark Zuckerberg is an ambitious snake who will do anything for money and power. Zuckerberg is a far right neo-Nazi like Musk is.

The 2010s still saw Big Tech needing to make a case for itself by looking Hip, Progressive, Having Bean Bag Chairs in the Staff Lounge. Now being fascist jerkoffs is more profitable for them.
This is hilariously lampooned in the HBO show Silicon Valley, with every startup pitch including the need to "make the world a better place." Part of it is being in the Bay Area and surrounded by progressives. Part of it is the messianic nature of many tech founders.
The biggest change is the concentration of the industry into 5 gigantic platforms and everything else is tiny. Giant global corporations are their own world - Apple, Amazon, Facebook, Google and Microsoft have become standard corporate behemoths.
Once you realise that there are no real consequences, and sometimes even benefits, then people start to act the way they really want to act, not how they think they need to act.
Politicians used to be terrified of being caught lying.
Then they realised that voters generally don't care.
Depends how we're defining the tech industry. SV specifically certainly has lots of libertarians. There are a handful at most of actual eugenicists. The link between science and engineering and eugenics was certainly there 100 years ago though. And even fewer Nazis. Way too much invoking the Nazis.
The line between libertarians, eugenicists and nazis is a thin one, especially in the tech industry. Look at the wealthiest man in the world, often indistinguishable from the average Stormfront poster.
This is just one more example of the depravity of the filthy Rich. They act like a bunch of frat boys that really need to get the shit beaten out of them by real men.
A bully beat down situation would be incredible. It would create so much revenue.
These corporate criminals need to spend the rest of their days in Guantánamo Bay. They should be treated worse than the Iraqi detainees. Treasonous slimeballs do not deserve due process .
Of course. That and the betrayal of his partners and ftiends. The typical tech bro who never had any moral spine. Pretending to be a benefactor if humanity while he thrives on our volunteer work. If we don't feed Meta with our contents, he ceases to exist."If it's free, you're the product".
I submit our elected officials, including Senator Weiner, *do more* than leave a social media site... this is not going to end well unless people in positions of power take action against a trend to incite harm against our fellow citizens
I'm the last person to defend Meta, but my read of that policy is actually the inverse? In that it's saying "you may post about a meetup that excludes men from a women's-only space".
It feels like it's trying to allow positive discrimination/affirmative action, rather than hate speech.

Hell, I'd pay even more to BE the person who pummels him.
