I have two fav cemeteries and (yes I'm one of those tourists who visits cemeteries). First is in a farmers field in Tantalon Saskatchewan Canada - where I found my great-grandmother. Second is in Thames NZ - untended practically lost to nature's beauty.

Locally, my favourite has to be Cathcart Cemetery on the south side of Glasgow. Overtaken by nature, steeped in history, and with an active friends group who undertake maintenance and research. Their guided tours are highly recommended.

Cathay Cemetery in Cardiff for me because hidden away found several family memorials and showed my 4xGGrandfather had a bigger acknowledgement than expected.

I love that the cemetery has a "Friends of..." organization that takes care of it and offers a burials database, tours and other events to the public.

I do love the cimetière Saint-Martin in Brest (France).
It has very impressive gothic-architecture mausoleums.
