I've mentally replaced "perfect" with "not eating shit for breakfast" and "good" with "eating a little bit of shit for breakfast, as a compromise".

literally the first time I've heard this aphorism was John Aravosis lecturing trans people that we need to stop trying to fight the fact that we were removed from ENDA back in 2007. perfect being protections for us the good being protections for everyone else

so I don't trust anyone who says it
