Yeah, I missed that, but I met both and got signatures, selfies, and conversation a couple years back at Twin Cities Con 2023. Also with the Clerks, Mallrats, and My Name Is Earl actors. The convention scene here is so good.
I’ve got some gaming/nerd hangouts on my list of TPs to review. Maybe I’ll have some up in time to help you determine which neighborhood/s you should consider.
I get tired of criminals repeatedly getting away with $350 million of fraud. Many someones are asleep at the switch. Tired of our judges releasing criminals with no penalties
Then, the judge wouldn't allow the state to stop paying Feeding our Future after the state found the fraud. Government couldn't react fast enough. I'm glad to see so many of the fraudsters convicted! I was a grant mgr for the state - diff programs - and this is NOT how things are normally done.
Honestly, the Feeding our Future fraud was a tsunami of things that went wrong. First, Covid - people were scared. They were afraid of kids going hungry. They needed to get the money out the door ASAP. Then, a huuuuge management & oversight failure at DHS. Then, once they found the fraud... 1/2
I live in Iowa now. I love the place, but we can’t even drink the water here due to the mismanagement of the government. Minnesota has a lot to offer in comparison.
I love Minneapolis. People say “oh the winters” but we’re both old enough to remember when Iowa used to have snow for months. Not so much anymore. It’s nothing that we aren’t used to. And people care about rights up north.
This is something that has been discussed in our house too. We have elderly parents and jobs and still I’m not sure that’s enough to stay here. I just hate this time. I’m also not sure Minneapolis is far enough.

(I couldn't handle it and left at 18).
Love it here!
