As someone studying art history I'm always BAFFLED by folks seeing the exact same theme (Let's say noncon) portrayed in 2 works of art. One is a historical Baroque, Bernini's The Rape of Proserpina, the other is a modern digital NSFW work, but only one of these is considered to have artistic worth 🤔

I think we give a lot of agency to tv published shows because we assume it’s an artistic purpose. Online everything someone does weird is purely thought to be for kink, traumatic inspiration isn’t really ever taken into account for dark or controversial art
