I can’t believe the governments being disabled by dudes who’s coding experience is pressing ctrl+f and looking for no no words

right, calling it AI is giving them too much credit.

I despise "AI" but at this point I'd take artificial intelligence over genuine stupidity

Don't worry, AI is trained by humans, which means it contains all of the genuine stupidity of its creators. You CAN have it all!

Honestly it's not so mch scare quotes as "whatever the hell they mean by that". :-)

It’s AI in the sense that it’s Assholes and Incompetence.

ai (generally) has the ability to read something and say “damn, that seems like it might be critical to humans existing in the future”

It might. But it’s nearly as likely to say that about a mango muffin recipe as anything actually critical.
