While chatting with @priyanca.bsky.social and @vickytnz.bsky.social at #SDinGOV yesterday, we landed on a great talk title: “Dangerous dogs and high-risk cheese - a day in the life of DEFRA” – can someone make this happen next year, please?

It came after I had a convo with some defra content designers recently, and one of them casually mentioned “high-risk cheese”, and I had to come back at the end and say it was the best three words I’d heard all day.
Oh I run a Gallus/ Chicken Project UR in Scotland about 2 years ago - we ended up doing close co-design with 2 inspectors rather than trad UR since the rest had to deal with the bird flu outbreak at the time as well 🙃
Imagine the ire from the content design community if “fishes” made it into a prototype. (Though I bet there would be a content argument to use it if it disambiguated something).
I could do ‘dangerous dogs, rabid executive boards and high risk tractors: my experiences of running user research on government services’ if you need a support act?
I was very sad that I never got to work on Slurry, but I treasure the memories of the animal health meetings where I learned that chickens enjoy playing football
My second MAFF job was in ‘Milk, pigs, eggs and poultry’ division, so it was fairly normal to answer the phone ‘Good morning eggs and poultry… please hold, I’ll put you through to pigs…’… if your message triggers my PTSD you’d better bet I’ll sue… 😉

I was sat in an office once and 3 people got up and said ‘we have to go now we’ve got that call about dead birds’ 😂
