my hot takes on graphics are: 1.) increased fidelity is spice, not sustenance, and 2.) better graphics can often add surprisingly little value, as many mechanics actively incentivize the player to filter out all those beautiful details as noise.

Whenever I see game footage "reimagined by AI" it basically confirms to me that graphics don't mean anything. The quest for "realism" is a losing battle
