idiotic question, but how can I tell if Blacker Lotus is legal

the deadpool bonus cards are fabulous. the harmless offering with gwenpool gifting jeff to deadpool is the opening premise of one of my favorite deadpool runs, king deadpool

the name of the card effectively determines legality in ambiguous circumstances like this, with the exception of the in universe prints, where the =SLD XXX at the bottom of the card denotes that it is the same card in the rules, and therefore, has the same name.

I meant like, as someone who didn't happen to know Blacker Lotus is a legal card, how was I supposed to know without proactively searching? I know this is an edge case, but I do feel like this particular card's visual design is not clear enough for players to know it's legal or not.

I suppose, but ultimately the onus falls on the player to ensure they’re using legal cards in sanctioned formats, and in commander this would generally just be met with an “umm that’s not legal” and a handwave. It’s a fair concern though, and something that the acorn stamp would have fixed 😭
