I did a quick u turn when I saw a woman with a young child and a pet carrier waiting to cross a busy road to an empty field. I didn't care what the animal was. I got lucky and got there just as she was about to pull a 6 month old kitten out of the carrier.

I rescued (domestic and wildlife) for decades before the internet and development of numerous rescue groups. What I saw made me a very angry person and had to stop. It broke me (financially, physically, and mentally). Now have rescued 2 older boys - they had no where to go.

Sadly, people dump dogs all the time. The sweet Puggle sitting next to me was dumped at a shelter in New Iberia (near Lafayette in SW Louisiana) even though the shelter staff told the people they were full.

Luckily a rescue stepped in and took both dogs. Butter is one of the joys of my life now.

The Vet I use told me about a farm he visited. 3 sheep were in a back pen. Totally neglected. Went to that farm and told him what the vet told me and ask if I could buy them. Bought them. The sad part was they had a Biden/Harris sign in their yard. I’m a Trump supporter.
