Yes but it gets worse. The tanker wasn't carrying oil but aviation fuel belonging to the US military. The tanker was stationary. The Russian crashed a cargo vessel into it at high speed in clear daylight. Nothing suspicious there eh? And now... an apparent coordinated silence.

I'd disagree about clear daylight, but that doesn't mean the Solong cargo vessel had any excuse for not noticing the tanker.
I agree that the 'coordinated silence' is very fishy, as is the early statement about the cargo vessel carrying some cyanide compound, later rather implausibly denied.
