I've literally had this couple of Dualshock 2s for TWENTY YEARS, and I've only ever had to change the rubber caps. They still work with no drift after uncountably many hours of GT4, GTA Vice City and San Andreas, FFXII, NFSU 1 and 2, THUG 1 and 2. Literal hundreds, probably even thousands of hours. - ThreadSky

Não se fazem mais controles como antigamente (eu presumo que isso também seja cuidado, porque eu acredito que eu não conseguiria manter 2 controles funcionais por 20 anos)

Yeah, there is a known 'flaw' with how modern controllers are manufactured which causes drift. Some 3rd party controllers don't experience drift because, it's an easy fix. One that the big companies choose not to implement

Exact same here! changed some rubber and it was all good. And I was a clumsy kid, all the edges look like they were chewed by concrete.
I changed those rubbers myself as a 13 years old. Super easy thing to do.
Now I don't even know how I would open my xbox series controller

I believe the best way to play games again on them without messing with the disc drive would be to get either a Memcard Pro 2 or a MX4SIO (+ a free mc boot card). It won't play every single ps2 game but most will work. Look into it if you want!
