The only thing I miss from cable TV is at any time you could flip thru the channels, and there was always some show in progress. You could watch it, leave it to play in the background while you do other things etc. 1/2

https://quasitv.app lets you do the same with your own media. You can give it an input (say your Plex library) and it creates pseudo channels. It can auto-generate channels based on content or source, or you can create your own channels. Pretty cool stuff 2/2
By default it creates some channels automatically, so if it detects Adult Swim shows - it can create Adult Swim channels.
I think you have to get a paid version (like 5 bucks) to be able to create custom channels - then you can create a blank channel and add to it shows you want.
Thanks! Think this is a different app from the one I saw earlier (previous one you had to install and setup a server). Going to check it out and cross my fingers lol.
This is why I find myself using https://pluto.tv fairly often these days. I does have ads, but it also has a lot of great stuff and doesn’t even require a sign-in (despite the regular nagging).
I recently discovered the Murder, She Wrote channel on Samsung TV and it's exactly like old times. She goes around killing people in the background and i get stuff done
my problem with cable tv was that i am a hardcore channel switcher. canceling cable was easy though in that i never found anything interesting at all to watch. plus seeing the cash savings every month was pretty good motivation. i still like to flip thru OTA and just see the strangest local shtuff.
