I was not a baby when I caught Whooping cough. I was 7 and unvaccinated. I thought I was going to die. I had double pneumonia as an added extra. I still remember the coughing/choking, it was hell! Please vaccinate your children.

It's all over the Mid North coast at the moment Paul, so many sick with it. It's truely horrible hearing that cough. I remind everyone who might be a bit leery about vaccinations to get a tetanus booster in the hope they'll go with the dTpa. People seem to be less worried about the tetanus booster🤷‍♀️

I didn’t realise the childhood #vaccine didn’t last more than a decade or so, & caught #WhoopingCough in Byron (anti-vax capital) circa 2011.
It was very nasty!
Not something I would ever like to see a small child suffering from.

Yep. Whooping cough is no joke. Got it in 2012 - after 6 flights in two days. Not sure where I got it exactly. Took me months to recover.

That is very concerning, Paul. Whooping cough is moving at a disturbing rate. 42,000 cases in Australia so far this year - compared to around 2450 in 2023. Can only hope everyone plays their part to stop the spread.

And while we’re at it adults can get it again even if vaccinated. The vaccine wears off in the 50s. Get a booster, from one who knows only too well. Trust me. You do not want to get it.

I had it #whoopingcough as a six week old baby because people weren’t careful or aware back then. I nearly died. I hope health is getting strong messages out. But given how Covid in kids is treated I have zero confidence.

I have seen babies and kids with Whooping cough, they suffer dreadfully and some die. Keep your baby out of the arms of people who may not be vaccinated and stay home as much as you can, until your baby is vaccinated.
