There’s a real chance that we staring down a new pandemic in the form of bird flu. It could never happen or happen in the coming months. And we are in the process of decimating our core national public health and infectious disease service.

The thing that is so appealing about right-wing ideology is that it never requires you to think too hard.

You're never asked to consider the complexity of a situation or ponder the lives of those different from you.

It only asks you to trust your most primal emotions and then act on them.

What I’m curious about is if bird flu starts spreading like wildfire, will the public at large know? Sure individual private organizations/experts can be like “yes this is bird flu” but as we know, most folks are low info. Wtf do they do when ppl start dropping? What’s the game plan?! Prior to COVID Americans had been so far removed from infectious disease and its consequences that they considered it something that only happened to Those People and Over There (like AIDS). It must have been someone's fault, instead of it being a tragic consequence of being part of the bio world

Like everything else with Trumpism, it's this insane Coalition of the Damned where you have people who are just nakedly corrupt, people who think Fauci invented COVID to destroy the White Race, and people still mad about school closures, and they all just ignore their disagreements.
