That game is the reason I work in the game industry. It's not a perfect game, far from it, but the VIBE you get playing it? I think it's still pretty much unmatched. I've loved the story from baldur's gate 3 but it was a different kind of immersion, what i want is the world feeling so wild and old

There's a mod-pack I use called "Wildlander" -- It's amazing how much work this guy put into making it stable, *beautiful*, and easy-to-install (just download the mods and run 2-3 apps!)

It's focused on traveling and building great campsites, like, think Red Dead 2's caravan crew. It's awesome!!

I still love playing Skyrim. Been taking it slow ever since it was new and I still find new areas to explore each time I play.

So often I will just wander around and travel and see what happens. Always playing as the beast races.

It’s brilliant, and yeah, I’ve never had it with another game as much as I’ve had it with Skyrim. Even now there are still areas of the map that I haven’t explored yet. The mountains at the edges and the islands to the north (apart from specific missions) are terra incognita to me.

Being a part of a game world is a challenging feeling. I think it's easy for games to hew one way toward "you're the chosen one and the world doesn't move on until you do something" versus "you are a nobody in the world and you have to try to make yourself significant. "

For me this is Fallout 3/NV. Wandering the wasteland with the radio stations turned off. Just the ambient music or sometimes just the wind. Stumbling upon random towns or just buildings and rummaging through them, finding the tiny world-building details. A little more bleak than Skyrim but awesome.
