ECHR or not, the human rights protection that prevents repatriation to antagonistic régimes is a function of the United Nations Court of Human Rights.

I’m not sure about that. look at the ICC. Very few indicted individuals seem to get arrested when a warrant is issued. Convicted felons seem to be able to travel to countries that ban them from visiting their country.

If they got their wish to leave and it turned out not to solve the "problems" they falsely promise it would (with a side order of trashing all of our rights in the process) then they'd need a new target, so they'd pick one of the other treaties to bin off. Just like how the ECHR is the new Brexit.
