Yeah, that would be a good idea. Although, the sovereign grant isn't anywhere near what the Foreign Aid budget is. In that sense getting rid of the sovereign grant would be more symbolic than fiscal, at around a £120M it isn't a huge budget.

I am not sure it was ever seen as a 'global charity'. More, they were trying to reverse a tiny fraction of the damage they wreaked as a colonial power, and stripping countries (particularly Africa and Asia) of their natural resources, and their people
