I can see the combination of factors that *could* result in Mike losing here. There's the contingent that always votes Liberal + those who think strategic voting means Liberal + those who are too hesitant to vote for the Greens in disarray even if they like Mike.

But I don't think it's likely.

Mike has such a large door-knocking volunteer base, and signs everywhere, and a strong reputation for anybody sufficiently plugged into the community, that I think that will take away a bigger portion of those Liberal groups than a lot of the projection systems calculate.

Projection systems aren't any good at capturing when local campaigns are making an impact greater than average.

And Greens win based on strong local campaigns. Not based on national or provincial poll numbers

That's where the sea of Green signs across the riding, lots of ads and an active campaign with volunteers on the streets come into play.

Absolutely, and one of the great things to say about Mike is that he has the freedom and skill to work with Liberals (and others) or to push back against them, whichever is more beneficial to the community for that context. Unlike a Liberal who gets pretty limited to what the party line demands.

Especially when even 338 shows Kitchener Centre as "leaning Green" and being the most likely Green seat.

And I'd suggest it doesn't have enough local data to make an accurate prediction.

It does sort of mention it:

"Grenier said the chances of co-Leader Jonathan Pedneault winning the Montreal riding of Outremont are slim. And while Green incumbents have proven hard to defeat, Grenier said both May and Ontario Green MP Mike Morrice are not in safe seats."

Grenier is wrong. Just as he didn't expect Morrice to win in 2021 despite a strong second in 2019.

His methodology doesn't take into account the hyperlocal data that puts Morrice on top by a good margin

The same riding has also voted Green twice provincially in the last 2 years.

We’ll all find out soon enough. It would be kinda sad if Mike doesn’t get in. He’s the kind of MP all Canadians should want in terms of how he acts in parliament
