The Holocaust was a horrible evil and ppl like Claudia MacPherson at the Hope Public Library aka Tina teaches children what she calls the Nazi salute at her taxpayer funded work. The FVRL library board refuses to answer verbal questions or emails about it. Glad Canada helped put an end to it.

It was a dark read, but it showed the holocaust in way more detail, but never so grotesque that children couldn’t read it. Also Art’s relationship with Vladek is not only so fun and light hearted to read.

Local libraries pay for ebooks, and work within the rules of copyright. It is a very different operation.

It is piracy, authors and publishers have sued them and won in court. If you want a book your local library doesn't have they can access it via interlibrary loan for free or for an affordable fee, depending on what your area provides.

Yeah, the profound part of Maus (which seems to be missed by some commenters here) is the perspective. That even wealth can't save a person, there's many ways people survived, and that the cycle these violent deaths create does not end with a single man's survival. And dude, I love Hatchet <3

I'm not sure how one would complain, or if Art Spiegelman would really care at this point. But I do notice creator-owned stuff up on IA, posted by some user, and unlike record companies or movie studios, independent artists rarely have the resources or even time to do anything about it.
