Surprisingly moody and atmospheric for what I assume to be a childrens' cartoon! Which is not a complaint; obviously kids can enjoy all sorts of different experiences, but it's not the way we're used to seeing things being marketed to kids in this day and age.

I watched the first episode based on how slick the art for the show was, but it left it at that as it was very much a kids education show. Got my niece to watch it though.
