i think it depends a lot on the handle and how heavy the mug is. it helps balance the grip and can add a little extra "something" to the form. but sometimes i just want a nice, clean handle.
also, i think i might call em thumb nubs vs mug lugs from now on 😂

Mostly, yes. I have no issue with people who add them. But for me, I don’t like the way it affects the pot’s visual profile - it looks clunky. Plus, I have tiny fingers, so it’s never comfortable for me. I do own a mug with a little bird on the handle, though. I love that for being adorable!
