Being BI or even batting an eye at a boy in the 90s would get my ass beat until I started lifting weights and throwing the first punch or chair lol

I then went into construction and those "good ol boys" are a buncha bigots so I kept throwing hands. I was young, they were old so it was an easy win

Now that I'm a stay at home dad, I'm trying to unpack and separate myself from that rage. I'm now actively being an emotionally supportive parent

I've seen cis folks get pats on the back for saying "check in with your trans friends" rather than actually doing so for me

Sure, I get a transit pass and sometimes grocery money from friends when I need it, but otherwise it's always me asking others if they need help
