The claim that the phrase "and subject to the jurisdiction thereof" means those born here to an undocumented mother aren't citizens sounds to me like a claim that those persons can't be criminally prosecuted or sued.

I don't see how SCOTUS can depart from the black letter law. The principle of jus solis goes back centuries and has a practical basis in law. A child born on US soil gets the full protection of a US citizen without restriction. That prevents the a stateless child from entering the US legal system.

* There is no higher Court to OVERRULE them
* There is no enforceable ethics code to BIND them
* They have LIFETIME appointments

I’m just curious, what does Supreme Court consider long-standing law? Because we know they don’t consider 50 years long-standing. And I’m also curious as to how this fully @gop Weaponized Supreme Court will figure out how to circumvent our constitution.
