Honestly I've always wanted to do some kind of series of neo-cave paintings depicting modern battles. Cave paintings are quite emotional to me because people back then had difficult crazy lives and didn't live very long but they still found time to draw pictures🥹

I forget what it was called, but there's this cave with a ton of painting in it. The people who were researching it found out that if you built a fire in the cave, it makes the paintings animate. So cavemen invented animation.

I've got a few faves, for various reasons, but my very favorite is Judith Slaying Holofernes by Artemisia Gentileschi. Caravaggio did a pretty solid version, as well. I love art depicting strong women, particularly from eras of art rife with misogyny. Their depiction alone was resistance.

Same, that's the exact reason I got it! The idea that some dude 20,000 years ago looked at a bear and went "okay, the paw shape, the hump on its back, it's cute little snoot... these are the essential elements of a bear" is so cool, we really are the same type of animal we've always been.

This pebble. Entirely natural, but about 3 million years ago someone carried it a few miles from its likely source to where it was eventually found.

(For context, we only separated from the chimp+bonobo lineage about 6-9 million years ago.)
