Absolutely wild how Section One opens with lengthy descriptions about how unhealthy Americans are compared to the rest of the world, yet never once mentions that maybe a meaningful factor is that all those other countries have universal healthcare.

Pretty sure I heard they want to ban bikes lanes and congestion charging too. Two things that have shown over the years to improve air quality and general fitness.
The language is hard, I know Hirigana even less Katakana and even less Kanji but I’m also 46 and live in the US. I’m guessing when I get there I’ll be immersed so hopefully I pick it up. I have to
As far as immigration my wife is a Japanese citizen which makes it a lot easier than her coming here
She’s currently in the States and has been for over 4 years but the process was a nightmare especially during Covid and the destruction the now current but then former administration did to immigration. I can’t even imagine trying in the future because of him and his goons
Nor do they mention that the prevalence of disorders such as ASD in wealthy countries may be due to the fact that we have more access to evaluation. The fallacious reasoning is astounding, until you remember the jackass who wrote it had some less than targeted neural pruning via brainworm.
…..those same cities still have cars, buses, and other mass transportation. What they don’t have are factories in urban areas, pervasive greenhouse gases rampant, and a lack of universal healthcare.
We do have factories in urban areas.
We also have emissions standards, a health service that practices as much prevention as cure, and higher food standards.
it IS the american food industry, manufacturing and processing that’s causing our health issues. also the fact that healthcare is privatized and expensive.
To be fair to RFK Jr, that is legitimately one of his big concerns. He does have some legitimate criticisms of how we handle food in the US. To be fairer to him- he's a fucking nutbag and an idiot who falls for every bullshit alt medicine conspiracy and has now taken up drinking dye because he was
You can make all the basics. All condiments. Get good quality peanuts. So may be Canadian. Roast them for 10 in the oven. Cool, toss in the blender. You have peanut butter. Zero preservatives. Baby steps.,then make all other nut butters.
Mayo, Mustard.., Make pasta from scratch Flour, water , salt. Freeze so you have it for a few meals or make it each time. If enough people do it, businesses will feel it.
That's the kinda mentality I had more with stuff people get but never use all of, like Tahini for that Greek dish they made to impress the HOA as opposed to that food being a staple in their home.
yeah, the Healthcare is definitely an issue, but I was shocked this year when I learned a lot of our food ingredients are not regulated well compared to Europe.
Companies are allowed to feed us junk here, for profit
The most vulnerable people won’t be able to get out.
For example, I’m transgender and also rely on a support animal. There’s no way for me to Travel with my animal that far , especially considering that I don’t drive. And most shelters won’t take me in with an animal.
Red Dye #3 is not banned in Europe. It's only authorized for use in cocktail cherries. Which is weird (it wouldn't be *less* carcinogenic), but not totally banned.
It’s not just dyes, but preservatives and fillers, and generally lower quality ingredients across the board that are allowed in the USA food products, but banned in Europe. I’ll send a reference link if I can find it.
Preservatives, too, as a category get a bad rap, because they prevent pathogen growth. The amount of the preservatives that would end to being toxic would normally have you consuming ludicrous amounts of the food that it's in.

Trump USA: Our people are healthy because we kill anyone who gets sick.
Even on insurance, the cost is horrific, so the natural reaction is to just hope for the best.
By the time you have a decent hospital worthy symptom, you probably hurt something way worse than if you'd gone sooner.
How did you navigate the strict immigration system?

I think you're making a good decision.

(Don't tell RFK Jr that Ich-X contains about 5% formaldehyde.)
I heard it's already been done with normal ones, which is why I say that.
People gotta fight for maternity leave, and paternity leave just gets dads laughed out of the room. Sexism sucks, don't it.

I still can't grapple the idea of their cities being pedestrian friendly
be safe 💕

No one is arguing against ALL preservatives or ALL dyes.
We are pointing out that the USA is allowed to use lower-quality ones that are known to have worse health effects .
