Diamonds, minerals and my biggest guess is to help Putin and turn the other cheek when he moves on to invade European countries. It’s a strategic place for a military base.
If Denmark refuses to sell Greenland, Trump might expand the U.S. military presence at Thule Air Base and claim Greenland for Arctic security under the Monroe Doctrine. Denmark then might invoke NATO Article 5, treating it as an attack on sovereignty, potentially sparking World War III.
"Denmark isn’t a country that needs US trade to survive. It only makes $5.54 billion in US trade, which is around 1.4% of Denmark's GDP. During COVID the GDP dropped by 3.6% (larger than the 1.4% it makes from US trade), but it was able to recover."
The whole world is economically dependent on the United States. Even China is, and if we assume this dependency doesn’t exist, then from a security perspective, all of Europe relies on the U.S. If the U.S. were absent, Russia and China could likely conquer all of Europe within a matter of days.
If Europe didn't act as the US bridgehead in Europe, Russia would be a superpower and an existential threat to USA. It's an interdependent security relationship based on loyalty and fairness. You don't bully your allies into submission.
True, the U.S. is key globally, but Denmark's economy isn't fully dependent — only 1.4% of GDP is tied to U.S. trade. On security, NATO is a collective effort, and Europe isn’t defenseless. Small nations can stand firm without risking collapse.
Regarding security, Europe alone cannot defend itself against the threats from Russia and China, and we know this very well. Anyone who thinks otherwise, in my opinion, is deluding themselves.
True, but Europe has strong militaries (UK, France, Germany) and advanced capabilities. NATO is collective, not just U.S.-dependent. While the U.S. is key, Europe’s defense isn’t nonexistent.
With all due respect, it seems like your statement is a bit idealistic. The issue is that the global economy, and especially the U.S.,is like a spider web, and if the U.S. were to collapse, it would bring down all of Europe, which in turn would collapse China’s economy and the economies of East Asia
Fair point—global interdependence is undeniable. But isn’t that all the more reason for nations to diversify and reduce over-reliance on any single power? A strong Europe benefits everyone, including the U.S., by sharing the weight of security and economic stability.
These two countries have little to say when it comes to China and Russia. Believe me, if the United States were not around, China and Russia would have attacked Europe many times by now.
However, Europe faces enormous challenges in standing independently. Military support in Europe comes primarily from the U.S., and European countries, apart from France and the UK, aren’t producing sufficient military capabilities.
In my opinion, the Eu Union was created to be another version of US, but it has failed. The United States has been protecting Europe’s security. Now, a president in the White House might have misguided views on NATO, the US-EU relationship, so on, but the United States remains an extraordinary power.
We need to stop the orange Nazi before he gets fully organized. Sane Americans Canada, Mexico and Panama have been threaten by Trump. With them and our other allys we can invade from the north and south to eliminate them!

Best advice is to tell him to F*** off.
Call the president of Mexico if you need some pointers on how to deal with him.
He thought he’d make a simple call,
Buy Greenland like a shopping mall.
Denmark replied, “Cute, but no deal,
You can’t buy land like a Happy Meal.”
